IGCSE results in 2019
We are delighted to inform the school community about the Cambridge IGCSE exam results of our current Year 12 students (the graduating Class of 2021) who have now started their IB Diploma courses. Well done to each and every student!
Our Year 12 pupils' achievements included:
51% of all exams passed were at A* to A grade and over 90% of all exams passed were in the A* to C grade range.
50%* of First Language English results at A* to A standard (2019 worldwide = 35%).
96%* of First Language English results in the A* to C range (2019 worldwide = 83%
*Only one of our candidates was entered for IGCSE English as a Second Language.

PARK LANE STUDENT PUBLISHES HIS FIRST BOOK
This week Simon (9L) published what I hope will be the first of many books. His first book is titled: The Trilogic World.

CHAPTERS DAY
When we work together in new ways we discover things about ourselves and others that we didn’t know. As a result of the way Chapters Day was organised, teachers presented on their personal interests and reading, older students shared their passion for literature with younger ones, friendships formed across year groups and students who would never usually be in the same classroom collaborated and learned together. At the heart of the day was the simple concept of choice; each student started the day holding a personalised timetable informed by their preferences and this contributed largely to a sense of excitement but also to a recognition of responsibility to be attentive and make the most of these unique presentations.
There was simply so much going on, no one person could have appreciated it all; thankfully, the photos are currently being collected centrally and I have thoroughly enjoyed perusing the smiling faces and the work of some of the more creative sessions. From those collected so far there are some particularly great pictures of: face tattoos in New Zealand traditional storytelling, how to use a wand in Magic for Muggles, the design of a world full of 2D shapes in Flatland, the visualisation of quotations in the session on 100 Years of Solitude and you can see the school in Malaysia the students Skyped as part of the chapter: The Global Mystery Story Share. At Klárov, students enjoyed the session presented by Jan Čihák: Inside North Korea, the Hermit kingdom, Laugh out Loud, by Thale Herbertson or Book to film by Norman MacRury.
