IGCSE First Language English study starts in Year 10. Here the students hone their analytical and creative writing skills to meet the demands of the IGCSE Language and Literature courses. The IGCSE is taught over five terms and culminates in externally assessed exams.
Below you can find the Programme of Study, syllabi for the 0500 and 0486 courses, set exam texts, and letter to parents about annotating the texts provided by Park Lane.
Please note: At the bottom of this page there are links to recommended reading, the links are simply for students' personal reading, the students will only be assessed on the CIE 0486 set texts list and the poetry anthology.
